Over the years, Mark Sloan had seen a lot...

He'd seen his son's hearts broken more times than he could count...

He'd seen them sleep their way through women, and men, but that was in the past... before they had found each other.

They had been so happy through the years, only to have it taken so soon, so unnecessarily, so pointlessly.

Mark looked down sadly from where he sat in the car; his son knelt over a simple grave...

The man who rested there hadn't wanted anything fancy, and they had abided by his wishes.

Mark watched sorrowfully as his son placed a final parting kiss on the top of his other sons gravestone.

"Goodbye Steve... I'll take care of you're... our dad... I promise." Jesse said lightly, feeling the cold stone against his lips... and the tears in his eyes... "Goodbye."
